Shoebill Stork

Did You eat my last fish stick?!

This crazy bird seems to be a mix of a pelican, stork, and heron (long legged fresh water bird). They almost look like a cartoon character but there pretty amazing looking when you actually watch them for a while. More info below.

Shoebill Storks or the whalehead are very rarely seen in groups. They are very isolated birds even with their breeding partner they keep their distance. They are found in East Africa, Uganda, southern Sudan, Tanzania, and Zambie in swamp banks and marshes. They are silent creatures and are usually reluctant to fly but they are very strong and fast flyers when they decide to be.They pray mostly on lungfish, frogs, and small crocodiles. There are only about 9000 (hard to estimate because of habitat) and breeding pairs only lay about 2 eggs. Only one usually survives though. Zoo's have trouble breeding them but they are still able to catch eggs in captivity.
