Bolas Spider

The art of bird poop is strong in this one

This is actually a spider with bird poop camouflage. Already pretty interesting but it gets better. This spider has a very unique way of hunting its prey that's very active unlike most spiders. It's pretty crazy. More info below.

The really cool thing about these spiders is that they imitate the female moth's pheromones to a specific kind of moth species. They produce several different kinds but they are each designed for a specific kind of moth. They are also found around the world (except Europe) so many would starve if they were placed in a different part of the world because the male moths  would be attracted by different pheromones. They can even customize how much of a certain pheromone they produce. This can be important when hunting multiple types of moths at different parts of the day. The female spiders are bigger than the males at about 15 mm (largest) while the males reach only about 1-2 mm. Whats even more interesting is the that the male spiders after they have hatched are already sexually matured and can mate. Because of their sizes this sight is pretty rare.
