Dumbo Octopus




Alien maybe but he's still cute







These guys are rare little octopuses that use there "ear" like fins to gently float around. They get their name from Disney's flying elephant but I guess he really does exist. There is very little footage of this rare animal but I got one video. More info below.






These guys are found 3000-16,000 feet deep in the ocean but one seems to have been found 23,000 below! That's a lot of water and its hard to tell from the video but these guys are only about 8-12 inches in length. They eat worms, molluscs, and crustaceans  from the sea floor and in the water. Dumbo Octopuses' lack teeth so they swallow their prey instead. There's about 14 known species currently but there used to be 20.
