Horse Conch



Liking snails yet?






These guys are huge underwater snails that hunt other snails. They are slow but so are its prey and compared to other snails its pretty fast. I could probably watch a snail like this move for hours. More info below.



They may have conch in their name but they aren't actually true conch's. Because it doesn't belong the genus Strombus which is what true conchs are classified under. The word "conch" comes from the Greek word meaning shell. It's shell can grow up to 24 inches and its Florida's state shell. It is found along Americas's Atlantic coast in 20 foot deep water zones in the sand with sea weed and mud flats.
