Dragonfly Larvae

Just cause they're larvae doesn't mean they aren't predators.

I didn't know dragonfly larvae were active predators. These guys are vicious and show no mercy. Their hunting tactics remind me of a praying mantis. Read below for more information.

There are three stages of the dragonfly cycle and this stag (second one)  is called the nymph or larvae stage (first one is egg and last one is adult fly). This stage can take up to four years to complete. They are found in calmer waters like ponds or marshes. As seen in the third video dragonfly larvae don't care about what they eat even if it's their own kind. They will eat younger larvae if they come across them.
